Happy HAUL-a-days

Corney title, I know! It just seemed fitting.  Every year during the holidays I restrict (i say restrict, because a ban would NEVER work for me LOL) personal spending on myself.  Jesus may be the reason for the season, so for a couple weeks out the year i can stop buying myself stuff, right??? Wrong!  

I stopped by the Dollar Store to pick up tissue for boxes & always find myself going down the Beauty isle to see if they have anything.  Usually I don't find anything good but my luck changed!  I found a couple of E.L.F. glosses & L'oreal liners.  Than I went to Harmons because I was running out of a lot of my everyday staples.

I had my bag and I wanted to sprint out of Sephora (p.s. I Don't Run EVER) and rip the wrapping off these palettes and dig my fingers in the colors to swatch up my arm.  PURE MAKE-UP HIGH!  But no I was a good blogger and went against the urges so here we are ...

Impromptu Haul & swatches

This weekend my brother asked me to drive him up North to a different mall school shopping, so Saturday we were out!  I was racing up the parkway and although I told myself I wasn't going to spend $$$ that never happens!  I go about my business and head in and out of stores, I swear idk what is wrong with me lately I can't find anything I like.  Well after H&M I was over the whole shopping thing but than a Lightbulb went off in my head!  I remembered that many moons ago when I was getting into make-up there was a little beauty supply store that sold NYX dirt cheap. I see it and walk in and low and behold NYX-a-palooza up in that place!  I was staring in awe at the lipstick display.  I didn't know wtf to do with myself.  After 45 minutes this is what I ended up getting ....

6 NYX round lipsticks at $1.99 a piece & 2 blushes at $4 YUP YUP!  whoop whoop! Go ME! cheaper than online, no shipping charges or wait time, I'm on it!

NYX BLUSH

I have tried the blushes in the past and I was happy with them.  So the two that I got have been on my radar for a while for various reasons.  I didn't purchase them before because I was finding them at place for like $8.  Um NO! that's a lot IMO for a drugstore blush.  With my pro discount I can get a MAC blush for the same price.  (hence why I don't bother with a lot of drugstore products)

Taupe & Peach Blush

I purchased taupe because its supposedly a dupe for my beloved Emote blush & Peach because i saw it on Kim Kardashian months ago and loved the blush before i knew what it was.

Its not an exact dupe as Taupe is way cooler than Emote.  I'll have to see how it wears but I do like the soft texture of NYX blushes.  They blend nicely but if you over blend its gone, so I suggest maybe layering it over a cream blush to make it pop and last.  

NYX Round lipsticks

As much as I'd heard about these all over youtube & blogger no store near me had them, hence why when I found them I was dumbfound LOL I couldn't remember which ones to get...

Paris -- A bright bubblegum pink

  Louisiana -- A Watermelon Pink

Strawberry Milk -- A milky pink

Pumpkin Pie -- A Peach w/ slight pink iridescence

Indian Pink -- A coral with pink sheen

Orange Soda -- A creamy orange

The lipsticks went on really smooth, almost melting into the skin.  The formula seems to me like it is a cross between MAC creamsheens & glaze.  For the price they are extremely good.  I wore pumpkin pie yesterday for dinner and it didn't last thru pasta but none of my lipsticks do.

Possible dupes ???  (as suggested by other bloggers)

Many blogs said strawberry milk was a dupe for gaga and such pale pink colors but I didn't find that to be true.  Strawberry Milk is lighter and less cool than those.

Small Haul -- MAC, Harmon's and CAKE

Its been so nice lately i've been enjoy the outdoors.  I didn't really get much for my b-day and i didn't really need anything but i knew that some of the money i got i wanted to use on some Make-up but nothing has really been calling my attention.

Anyways i went to MAC because i have some weddings coming up and i tried to convince myself i needed something but when i went there i didn't get much.  My friend that works there showed me the new MSF's so she's holding stereo rose and maybe comfort but i'm not really feeling the rest of the collection OH WELL!

I got MAC shadows in Samoa Silk, Romp, Texture.  I needed select cover in NC20 so i picked that up.  OH and i had passed on the SuperGlass launch but i was surprised my store still had them all in so instead of me picking up my usual sugarrimmed and smile i got similar colors in super glass which they let me Back 2 Mac for SCORE! 

At Harmon's i needed my maybelline brow pencil which dupes the mac one but they didn't have my color so i got the NYX one which is ehhh! i don't like the color but whatever.  OH and i'm trying out that base coat because Seche Vite was $7 and i usually pay $3 at the professional store i got to so this to hold me over.  Yeah i'm kinda cheap like that LOL and i picked up my liquid liner 

I also got some clothes from OLD NAVY as they were having their 30% everything sale.  I kept it simple i got 2 vests in black and grey stripes, a simple grey v-neck, a black lacey tank and a short sleeved kimono type hoodie.  

OH and i Got these....

i live in sandals not flip flops in the summer! I'm supper girly like that and i thinks its easy to just wear a v-neck jean and some cute sandals! These were from forever 21 and the were only $7.50! I have Sam Endelman sandals that were really expensive and these forever ones are more comfy! 

Than Monday my Mom and My sister made me a birthday dinner so everyone could celebrate!  I give them props because we were going thru a heat wave so for them to cook for me meant a lot! I didn't take pics because it was hot i was bumming it LOL 

How cute is my cake??? I hate those sugar flowers but the cake was so cute! and PINK my favorite color.  The frosting was actually whipped cream and the inside was chocolate and vanilla ice cream with chocolate crunchies in the middle =] YUM!
