Giving Thanks

Just a quick look a threw together today.  I helped my mom cook all morning so I didn't have that much time to get ready BUT I liked the way this came out.  It would've looked much better if i had liner on but I was super jittery from drinking just coffee.  OH! So last night I was at Targhetto & I came across the E.L.F. 100 palette & snatched it up!  ALTHOUGH I was only looking for the 32!  I must say with a decent base the shadows are pretty good!  I'll keep playing around with it to give you guys the nitty gritty!

 

 

Nails Done, Hair Done, E'rythang Did ...

 Some girl in my class stopped me today & said "WOW! Your hair & make-up always look great!"

Even tho I have a 8am class Mondays & Tuesdays I still get done up.   There is nothing like having your hair & make-up done to start your day.  I always get questioned about how i do it or why i even bother.  Deep down inside I do it for myself.  I don't have to impress anyone BUT it does give you a certain pep in your walk.  I feel better when I know that i look better.  PLUS I'm a big believer in practicing what you preach.  I get stopped by girls all the time asking for tips & tricks.  If your in the beauty business, like myself,  who is going to take me seriously If I state that I'm a Make-Up Artist & Hairstylist if I don't look it.  I know I'm very picky with who I let near my face & hair,  If you don't look the part your not getting my $$$.

I've been all about simple yet dramatic looks lately.  I'm feeling the cold fall wind & have been all about smokey eyes for a week now.  (WARNING: next FOTD's will be smokey eyes =]) I'm all about sweeping one dramatic color on the lid & a matte skintone highlight to blend it out mascara & liner.  So simple yet gets the point across.  The other day Jess (check out her blog =]!) tweeted a picture where she used sketch on the lid & it looked fab.  I had to try it out this morning.

The Family Crest

Yesterday I woke up and felt like I wanted to play around with my new A Tartan Tale goodies.  I just did a quick simple smokey eye with The Family Crest pigment.  If you love pigments YOU NEED THIS ONE!  It is so pretty pictures don't do it justice.

Fall Inspired + Tutorial

Yeah you read right Tutorial!  For YEARS, People have stopped me asking to do Youtube vids even when I wasn't that good.  Fast Forward, I bought a camcorder last month but was hesitant to record as I have no knowledge of this.  Than I Meet Richie Nickle who tells me i have to record mind u, I looked like a HOT FUCKING MESS because It was hot in NYC.  Than like 80 girls are asking me if i'm on youtube.  That being said yesterday I finally recorded but as I was editing something happened.  AGAIN I have no knowledge of this so I was like EHHH.  This morning i tried it again AND this is the result.  I re-did a look that I posted on Specktra last year that people requested.  (If you have a look u want done REQUEST NOW!) 

The Takeover

Its offically fall.  Has been for some days now, but today I got up feeling like it was a red lip kinda day.  Not just any red lip, Ruby Woo was calling out to me.  See me and Ruby Woo go way back.  She was the first MAC lipstick I ever purchased.  Before her I only had clear glosses.  Shows you how daring I was,  My 1st lipstick ever was red.  I had no real clue about undertones and all that jazz back than but I knew it would work.  Where Lady Danger is my spring/summer go to red,  Once the wind blows colder and the leaves start falling, Ruby Woo takes over.

You Fancy huh ...

I wish girls wouldn't stare so hard when they see me at 2pm with a full face of make-up, hair done, and dressed LIKE a normal person.  I mean damn I should be staring at them like they're the weird ones looking like they rolled out bed mid afternoon.  Don't Hate, CONGRATULATE! LOL #justsaying

ANYWAYS idk what to call my look today Which I Loved once it was finished =]  It reminds me of the Nars Rajasthan Duo that I was going to buy during the Sephora friends and family sale.  Oh Well I'll get something else instead.  Sorry for the lack of reviews I haven't purchased any make-up lately =/  I'm moving soon so once I get situated in my NEW home which I'm so excited for I'll get back on the ball.  I have so many ideas for my room which I haven't even seen so i'll have to see before I can finalize my design. I'm so excited & I know I'll be happier there =]  My furniture is BLACK so if anyone has any ideas send it over! I'm always open for more ideas!!!

OH and I got a haircut with my mom yesterday.  I like it lots.  I got about 5 inches off so my hair is so healthy right now.  You can't really see it in the pictures as I usually take pictures when my iron is heating up

So on on my way to class today minding my business when so girl stops me and says my make-up is like Nicki Minaj's.  I guess it was a compliment BUT I don't follow Miss Minaj so I was just like eh!  Nothing against her I do see her make-up and it cute BUT I am no follower.  I've been doing my make-up long before Nicki was relevant.  WHATEVER! I've never seen a look like mine on her

Another Memento Mori Look

I don't have the energy to think of a clever post name ....I woke up today so sickies!  But I made sure I put my best face on plus I have so many different combos in mind with these new palettes i'm trying to bang them out.  I only had one class today but let me tell you my teacher is a mess!  LOL  Ratemyprofessor.com ratings said he was good & he was hott.  UMMMM this man looks & talks like he's out of a OG gangster movie IE.  The godfather.  NO LIE!  He had the bronx accent, cursed frequently & that IDGAF nyc swag.  But I can tell he's gunna be a good teacher. He's right to the point and none of that BS fluffy busy work teachers give you.  He's a screenwriter that is getting one of his plays published right now.  So I'm hella stoked to learn from somebody like that.  He writes crime stuff like the sopranos LOL surprise surprise.  Whatever  It took me longer to get ready for class than I was there for real!  Its almost a 3 hour class he let us out within and hour and says he usually does. GREAT!  

BACK to make-up I pulled out the Momento Mori palette again.  I love it.  IDK if its because Halloween is coming and the theme of the palette is Dia del los Muertos (day of the dead).  HMMM i'll try & put the other one to use tomorrow.  Promise!  How weird is it that I took pictures and NONE looking at the camera???  I was def. out of it this morning!  P.S.  I love the WET & WILD Vanity Palette!  I've used it everyday since I got it ... Review on that coming up next =]

Your Make-up is FIERCE!

Today was my first day back to school so I got up extra early 5:30 am to be exact! I must really love you guys and this blog because I allotted myself extra time to do my make-up & take pictures.  GO ME!  PLUS I wanted to put Momento Mori (should I review it??) to good use.  I'm SOOOO HAPPY I got it.  (Does that even state how Elated I am LOL)  ANYways I felt like I didn't buff in my blush that much it was really bright in the pics but no so much in person (weird!?)  But I got all self conscious.  Then I get to school and people LITERALLY roll out off bed and come to class so I was getting more creeped out by the looks.  WHATEVER! I look, smell, & feel good LOL!  So I'm in the bathroom and this girl from my class stops me and is like "OH EM GEE your make-up is FIERCE so FIERCE"  All the girls in there turned and looked needless to say I got all shy.  I couldn't wait to get home & share my look with all of you so without further adieu ....

With these smokey eyes at least!  I have had MAC club eyeshadow for forever & never used it until yesterday.  I was really inspired by the smokey eyes of fall and Club is perfect for it.

I got that Smokey kinda love...

I have like never watched a Miss Universe Pageant but I saw that everyone and their mom was twittering about Miss Guatemala looking GORGEOUS so I had to peep it out.  For those who don't know My Mom is Guatemalan & my Dad is Salvadorean but I was born & raised in New Jersey but I never forget my roots.  Those who know me know that i often long for trips back to their home because its a 180 from living here not that i'm complaining because life is def. better here.  It just happens that everyone back home is humble and its always peaceful.  

 

 

That being said Miss Guatemala was EFFIN GORG! For like the first time in forever, and I was so surprised.  She was very kardashianesque and she was rocking that smokey eye.  Well a lot of the girls were and it instantly rekindled my love of smokey eyes.

Project Recreation: Demi Lovato

I never payed Demi Lovato any mind because she was on Disney, so I just assumed she was Miley Cyrus Pt.2.  Not My Cup Of Tea!  Fast Forward to earlier this week when I went to see her in concert.  I was truly surprised.  She came out actually signing not lip syncing to a pre-recorded track!  Surprising now a days, I know.  But what really got me was her make-up.  I was intrigued because it was such a simple look but it was really pretty to me. 

I had a couple of make-up ideas I've been wanting to do but I decided  on this simple recreation of Demi's look from the other night at the concert.  It could be categorized as a back to school look or even a work look.

Good things come to those who wait

My youngest niece Jascenia, but I call her Mimi, had been telling me or months how she wanted to go to this Camp Rock: The Final Jam Concert for months now.  When tickets first went on sale they were $39 for lawn tickets, so I was like OH HELL NO.  Lawn tickets are like nose bleed but worse because u sit on the grass, I can sit on my own grass for free! LOL  I guess they weren't selling out because last week I got wind that there were $10 lawn seats, but being the busy bee that I am I forgot.  My oldest niece was invited by someone the night before the concert that scored $10 lawn seats so I made my way to ticketmaster and was I surprised.  I purchased 2 $10 tickets for INSIDE the arena AND we were in the middle!  SCORE, I had one happy kid!

Anyways I had no idea how to do my make-up so I just threw some colors on & I liked the outcome.  If you've always wanted to wear a bright color but are afraid DEF. pair it up with neutrals & you won't be upset.
